The new novel, set in London and Venice in 1819, explores a woman’s obsession, her psychological dependency and vulnerability to cruelty, and is set for publication by the Bitter Lemon Fiction imprint in March 2016. Janet Todd, until recently President of Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge, is best known for her non-fiction feminist works on early women writers and for her books about Mary Wollstonecraft, Aphra Behn, and Jane Austen.
